Figurative Language Relating to Poetry- Common Core Aligned

This highly interactive lesson introduces students to figurative language and shows them how by using it an author is able to express their own style in their writing by painting a picture in the reader's mind. It uses poetry examples to assess the students learning, and offers as many examples to practice on as your students will need! Reading poetry and understanding it is so critical in the Common Core Standards!

This adds SO much to my reading lesson, especially when poetry is being read!!!!! Poetry usually seems so scary for kids to understand, this makes it so much easier to comprehend what they are reading!
