This is a flipchart including figurative language objectives for common core 5th grade (idioms, imagery, simile, metaphor, hyperbole, onamatopeia, alliteration). Each slide describes the type, gives examples, and has an activity/suggestion to be completed in word work or response journal. I have also included many engaging video links and poems with examples. Great for mini-lessons and to enhance writing or to front load before poetry. I also have an assessment for sale.
