Description

Figurative Language Bundle

This complete unit helps students practice identifying and creating examples of eight different types of figurative language: irony, simile, hyperbole, alliteration, metaphor, personification, onomatopoeia, and oxymoron.

Use the 31-slide PowerPoint and foldable to create a resource tool students can refer to again and again!

Included:

  • a 31- slide PowerPoint or Google Slide deck that defines and provides examples for eight types of figurative language (alliteration, hyperbole, personification, onomatopoeia, simile, oxymoron, metaphor, and irony)
  • template for an interactive notebook foldable and directions on how to assemble
  • eight practice worksheets on figurative language (alliteration, hyperbole, personification, onomatopoeia, simile, oxymoron, metaphor, and irony) available as PDFs or editable Google Docs
  • links to a Google Slide deck that students can complete in lieu of (or in addition to) the interactive notebook foldable
  • a complete answer key
