Description
Sorting activity and student book for exploring emotions and feelings. This activity is a great way to get to know your students and help them express their feelings and emotions when it comes to every day activities they do in kindy, childcare, school or home with their friends and peers.
Prepare the resource - cut and laminate label cards and action cards. Invite your students to choose emotions they would like to talk about and lay corresponding cards in a row. Invite them to take turns choosing one action at a time and match it to a particular emotion.
Encourage them to explain certain feelings if they feel safe to do so and suggest strategies on dealing with feelings that limit student's positive activity.
Offer your students to cut their My Feelings Book, color and draw or write down what makes them feel nervous, mad, happy, scared. confused, embarrassed, shy, sad, proud or silly.
