I just love how these giant collaborative poster projects turn out! They are great for subs, time fillers, or preventing idle hands during listening activities. Thank you!

    Description

Get your students engaged and inspired from the start of the new year with my Famous Faces® Growth Mindset Collaboration Posters!

This bundle includes two collaborative posters featuring portraits and inspirational/motivational quotes from famous people. Each poster features 7 different portraits. Best of all, the two individual posters can be combined to produce a large, visually engaging, 14-ft long banner to hang across the back of your classroom, in the hallway, in the library, or even your school entryway!

    The 14 people included are:

    • Martin Luther King Jr.

    • Amelia Earhart

    • Abraham Lincoln

    • Nelson Mandela

    • Marie Curie

    • Rosa Parks

    • Albert Einstein

    • Georgia O’Keeffe

    • Jackie Robinson

    • Steve Jobs

    • Malala Yousafzai

    • Henry Ford

    • Thomas Edison

    • Maya Angelou

The final poster is a striking visual inspiration to your students and school community.

In this BUNDLE you will find both of my Growth Mindset collaboration posters volume 1 and volume 2.

You can use volume 1 now and attach volume 2 later in the year, you can use both volumes now and display them separately in your room, OR you can combine volume 1 and 2 to create a large final poster. I have included pieces in volume 2 that will connect the 2 posters.

You have so many options available to you in this resource. I have provided detailed explanations for all the options below in the resource itself.

    • Decide which poster option you want - there are 2 of them (save your ink - don’t print both). Choose the one that is right for the age of students you work with.

    • Decide if you want to print at full size or make a smaller version of the poster (depending on how much room you have to display your poster).

    • Growth Mindset isn’t something you do once and forget about - it becomes a way of thinking in the classroom, so consider doing volume 1 of the poster now and then add volume 2 later.

    • You can choose to color the background yellow or leave it white (explained in the resource).

    • Display the final poster in your classroom, hallway, or another place around the school. It’s also a GREAT poster to use during testing time to cover up your teaching materials while leaving your students with motivation for their test!

All of my collaboration portraits and posters are easy for teachers and fun for kids and make a lasting impression—on students, parents, and your entire school community! Large and visually striking, this poster is the perfect accompaniment to your growth mindset lessons and makes for a great display in the front office, the auditorium, a hallway, or your classroom. No matter where it ends up hanging, it will engender unending compliments while proving a source of inspiration!

The collaborative nature of this poster makes impact without having to say anything— every single piece of the poster matters—just as every child in the class matters. Your students will walk by and say, "I did that piece." each time they see the poster. They take great pride in being part of this art project.

Differentiation is built into the design of this activity. Some pages have more to color than others, so some kids will easily color two pages. There are large sections behind the quotes that get left white. Other pages have a lot of little details to color. You can use this to differentiate and provide the appropriate experience for each child to achieve success and be part of the group. This poster makes a great lesson all in and of itself or can be used for early finishers and morning work.

    Poster BUNDLE Details:

There are 2 resources bundled into this resource.

    • Each volume has 2 poster options (a black and white key for older students and a full-color option for younger students).

    • If you combine both posters, there are 3 rows and 25 columns for a total of 75 pieces.

    • If you combine both posters, the final poster is approx. 21” x 175” when complete.

    • This poster is ideal for a large bulletin board or a hallway.

    • Each poster piece fits on a standard 8.5” x 11” piece of paper.

    • Use markers, colored pencils, or crayons.

    • The colors you will need are: red, blue, pink, purple, green and yellow.

*Note: If you plan to laminate this poster, don’t use crayons because the heat from the laminator will often melt the wax from the crayons and ruin the poster.

    *****2 Poster Options*****

The color key of this poster is a tiny bit complicated, so I created 2 variations to make this as easy for you as possible. The final posters of BOTH are the same - the difference is the color key at the top – you do NOT need to print both poster options.

Option #1: The first version of the poster has the color key in black and white with instructions and notes printed at the top telling the students exactly what they need to do on their page (see the preview for examples). You will need to print the page in black and white for this option.

Option #2: The second version of the poster has the color key actually in color. If you can print in color, please use this option. It will be easier for students to know precisely how their pieces should be colored. It's also beneficial for younger children who might not yet be able to read and save you from having to run around the room reading the different instructions to the kids (see the preview for examples).

    Options Included

I have provided instructions for a few various options

    • How to make a mini-poster.
    • Background color options.

I hope your students enjoy this poster! I always love to see what they make, so feel free to email me or tag me on social media when you share this project! You might find my FREE "Growth Mindset Teaching Video for Teachers" helpful to you if you are new to growth mindset.
