    Description

    This resource is a set of 4 plant life cycle foldouts to support elementary science. The set includes cut-and-paste templates for corn, pumpkin, apple and oak tree life cycles.

    These fun printables are ideal for fall science centers, interactive notebooks, and activities connected to harvest, Thanksgiving, or Halloween. Each set provides the opportunity for sequencing as well as encouraging fine motor skills with cutting and folding. They can be used to start a topic/unit, or as a review activity.

    Instructions and guidance for students on how to fold each one is included.

    Apple foldout

    There are 3 templates to choose from:

    • Color the apple life cycle stages, cut out and sequence the life cycle stage words, glue and, fold.
    • Color the life cycle stages, sequence the stages (pictures with words), glue, and fold.
    • Color the life cycle stages and apple halves, sequence the stages (either with simple words, or with descriptions), glue, and fold.

    Pumpkin foldout

    There are 4 similar templates to choose from:

    • Color the pumpkin life cycle, cut and fold.
    • Color, cut and fold. This is identical to the first template but with a simpler edge for less confident cutters.
    • Color, arrange the stages of the pumpkin life cycle, glue, cut and fold.
    • Large version over 2 pages. Color, arrange the stages of the pumpkin life cycle, glue, cut and fold.

    Corn/maize foldout

    There are 4 similar templates:

    • Color the corn and the stages of its life cycle. Match the words to the pictures, cut and fold.
    • As above but with a straight cutting edge.
    • Color the corn and the stages of its life cycle. Sequence the stages, glue, and fold. There are 2 different label options for this - one with words, the other with short descriptions.
    • As above but with the straight cutting edge.

    Oak tree foldout

    There are 4 templates to choose from:

    • Color the acorn and 4 life cycle stages, cut out the stages and glue them in order on the template, cut and fold. There are 2 label options 'acorn, sprout, sapling, mature tree' or 'acorn, seedling, sapling, mature tree'.
    • As above but with a straight cutting edge around the acorn
    • Color the acorn halves and 6 life cycle stages, cut out the stages and glue them in order on the template, cut and fold. Option to sequence words or descriptions for each stage.
    • As above but with a straight cutting edge around the acorn.
