Write the room is a fun and engaging literacy center activity. It gives students the opportunity to move around, interact with pictures and text found within the classroom. Students also get to practice their hand-eye coordination and handwriting. This packet includes 24 picture word cards to place around your classroom for students to find. Also included are 2 differentiated recording sheets. A trace the word or a write the word.
Print the picture cards onto card stock and laminate for durability. Cut out each card so that you have 12 to 24 cards in total to place around your classroom. Students will need a recording sheet, pencil and a clipboard. Alternatively, choose to use these in a literacy center. Simply give your students the picture cards, a recording sheet and ask them to record each word they find.
