Description

Field trips are a blast, especially if you have a way to keep students academically engaged both on the trip and in the classroom once you return! With the Pumpkin Patch Scavenger Hunt and Field Trip Activities, your students can enjoy this fun filled hands-on learning experience for more than during the trip itself. Keep students FOCUSED during the trip as they complete the scavenger hunt and find facts about pumpkins on the trip. Then follow up with two cut and glue activities involving the parts of a pumpkin and pumpkin lifecycle, journal writing, making a map and graphing activities upon your return.

Inside you will find:

*Please Note: ALL Activities are provided in both COLOR AND BLACK AND WHITE*

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Directly compare two objects with a measurable attribute in common, to see which object has “more of”/“less of” the attribute, and describe the difference. For example, directly compare the heights of two children and describe one child as taller/shorter.
Classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count.
Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.
Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in a bar graph.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
