What educators are saying

The fact is that almost every day we encounter those awkward five to ten-minute blocks of time, when it’s too short to start something new but too long not to do anything. This is a great way to have something to do for those 5 mins!

Description

Check out this digital fall math place value tens and ones activity! Students will enjoy the interactive activities of moving base ten blocks and numbers to build the number shown. This makes a great October math center! Each slide is interactive, and it can be assigned in Google Classroom™.

This unit provides 30 slides that each show a 2-digit number & students are to drag pumpkin numbers to a tens and ones box to show how many tens and ones in the number. Then, students will build the number using tens and ones digital base ten blocks. A perfect activity for fall or October!

Compose and decompose numbers from 11 to 19 into ten ones and some further ones, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each composition or decomposition by a drawing or equation (e.g., 18 = 10 + 8); understand that these numbers are composed of ten ones and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones.
Understand that the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones. Understand the following as special cases:
10 can be thought of as a bundle of ten ones - called a “ten.”
The numbers from 11 to 19 are composed of a ten and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones.
The numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 refer to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine tens (and 0 ones).
