Fall 2D Shapes Activities for Preschool & Pre-K | Autumn Math Center inc Easel

This fall rabbits 2D shape sorting resource includes both printable and digital TPT Easel options, and is a fun way to incorporate shape matching and shape identification & recognition into your preschool, pre-k and kindergarten classrooms. These hands on activities work well as math centers / math stations, and will keep your little ones engaged as they learn shapes.

This versatile resource can be used to:

• Match 2D shapes
• Draw 2D shapes
• Name 2D shapes

All printable cards are provided in half page size and quarter size page, so you can print the option that will work best for your students. This activity is provided in color only.

This resource includes a digital TPT Easel activity for matching 2D shapes. This is a drag and drop sorting activity, with audio instruction and audio for the shape words.

A digital TPT Easel Assessment is also included, which is a multiple choice quiz for matching 2D shapes.

This resource includes the following:

• Printable Shape mats for 16 different shapes (half page size & quarter page size - color only)
• Printable 16 x Fall rabbits cards with each rabbit holding a different shape (2 size options to fit shape mats - color only)
• Printable 3 x Visual prompt cards - 1 per activity suggestion (half page size & quarter page size - color only)
• Easel Activity 8 x slides for matching 2D shapes. This is a drag and drop, self-checking activity, which includes audio instruction and audio for shape words.
• Easel Assessment 16 x question cards for matching 2D shapes. This is a multiple choice quiz which gives instant feedback on student's answers.

Activity Ideas

This 2D shapes resource can be used in a variety of ways including the following:

• Match the shapes – Find the rabbit holding the matching 2D shape for each shape board.
• Draw the shapes – Laminate the pages to make write & wipe cards, or print and staple together to make a shapes mini book. Students draw the shapes in the box on the shape mat.
• Name the shapes – Use the rabbit shape cards as flash cards, with students saying the name of the shape that the rabbit is holding. This can also be used to identify the color of the shape.
• Easel Activity - Two shape mats are shown on the slide, with 4 rabbit shape cards. Students select the right rabbit shape cards from the options to match the shape mats. This is a drag and drop activity, with students moving the rabbit cards onto the shape mats. Students can check their answers using the "check" button. Audio instruction is included, along with audio for the shapes shown on the shape mats.
• Easel Assessment - Each question card shows a rabbit shape card. Students find the matching shape from the multiple choice options. Students will get instant feedback on whether they selected the correct shape before moving on to the next question.
