Fake News Friday is a video segment series that offers two statements - one real and one fake - on a topic and asks students to distinguish the true statement. This is a great way to show students that it is hard to distinguish between true and fake information at times, and may lead to further lessons about using multiple, reliable sources to gather information . This video series is perfect for a morning news show segment, an addition to a morning meeting in the classroom, or as an icebreaker opening for a day of distance learning.
When you download this resource, you will open a zipped file that contains a PDF with teacher notes along with a video for each Fake News Friday. All videos are MP4 files and 2 minutes or less.
