Description

This fully editable lesson segment teaches the elements of a traditional fairy tale and how to write a fractured fairy tale. I read "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs" to give students an example of a fractured fairy tale. Students then choose the way they want to fracture their fairy tales. This is a great writing exercise for students to share aloud because they always turn out amazing! I required my students to use three examples of literary devices but you could easily swap that out for vocabulary words. I also allowed my students to create a book cover for extra credit.

**Perfect lesson for a virtual learning environment**
