Get to know your students by beginning the school year with 'Prof du jour' and giving them an authentic opportunity to talk in French every day. Original Description

This is a great resource to get students speaking in French in a fun and friendly way! Prof du jour fosters and supports oral speaking and listening skills in a Core French or early French Immersion environment.

Students will ask and answer questions about the calendar, the weather, themselves, the time and more!

There are 7 questions in total. Question slides include visuals and sentence prompts to guide students and allow them to express themselves easily in French.

Perfect to use in your French Immersion, Extended French or Core French classroom. These word searches are perfect for early finishers, supply teachers or even as homework to reinforce new vocabulary words. Le Canada et la francophonie: mots cachés

Word searches makes for great supplemental activities to your French program, an related activity for early finishers or a fun and easy task to leave for a supply teacher! They can serve as part of an introductory activity to the beginning of the Intercultural Understanding strand of the Ontario FSL curriculum or as a final consolidation activity.

I used elements from the Ontario FSL Core French Curriculum from Grades 4-6 to create these crosswords, however they will work well with Extended French students, French Immersion students and any students studying Canadian Francophone cultures!

La mode / Fashion Show Unit Plan

This unit plan contains everything you need to teach an interesting and exciting unit about Fashion to your FSL students. Students will learn about colour adjectives, adjectives related to fashion, as well as how to write a sentence. This unit provides excellent opportunities to assess student writing and reading all in a fun and easy to teach way!

Mon monstre: FSL French Unit Plan

The "Mon monstre: débutant" unit plan is a fun unit to do with your beginner French students. This unit focuses on parts of the body, colour adjectives, agreement between number and gender and helps students with sentence building.

In this unit, students will participate in games, draw and design, participate in listening and speaking activities, play Kahoot!, learn new vocabulary, learn agreement with gender and number, create and compose a descriptive paragraph (with the use of a model), practice and present an oral presentation based on their monster. At the end, there is also the option to have students create their monsters out of papier maché.

I completed this activity with my Grade 6 Core French students and they loved it and had a great time using the imagination and creative skills to design, describe and build their own monster.

This is a great resource to use with FSL students around the holidays. It is suitable for grades 3-8 and comes with 3 different lesson plans! HUGO FSL Listening, Reading and Writing Activities

I always watch the movie Hugo at the end of the year with my FSL students. It is a great movie to watch because many have read the book, the images are so captivating and do so much of the story telling on their own and it's a heartwarming, exciting and funny story. This resource was created with Core French intermediate students in mind although it can be adapted to suit different sections. Please read the breakdown below for more information.

Use this resource to help keep your FSL students engaged as they enjoy Hugo! The activities included in this resource can be used throughout the whole movie so you can use them all in order, use them all out of order, use some of them, or use some and sub in your own as you go! You can watch the whole movie in 3 days or spread it out over 2 weeks. It is up to you!
