Life Skills Special Education Math Unit Free Download
This is a sample version of my full Life Skills Math packet available in my shop. The full version runs an entire year, while this sample offers material for one month. This lets you decide whether the lessons are right for your class.
This packet is tailored to make writing and assessing IEP goals a streamlined process. I developed this packet for my high school life-skills classroom.
This program works by focusing on 11 specific goal areas, and presenting each goal once over the course of two weeks (With the exception of goal #11, (basic math calculations), which is tested every day). This allows students to build skills throughout the course of the year, as the material slowly adds more complexity as the year progresses. The materials are meant to be used as a warm-up task each day, with one problem for each day of the week.
A monthly assessment graph is included in the full version as well as a pre-assessment, which makes progress monitoring for IEP goals as easy as grading a warm-up each day (phew!). Just find the IEP goals from the list provided, personalize them to your student, and copy them into your IEP writing program.
Each daily task is assigned a number between 1 and 10, which correlates directly to the IEP goal it was written for. For instance, if you want to write a goal for telling analog time, use the included goal, then look for how the student scores on question #2 which is presented every other Tuesday.
