FREE Friendly Letter Writing Activity

This Friendly Letter Writing assignment is a fun way to introduce or review Friendly Letter Writing skills.

Once students have an understanding of the letter writing format, introduce them to this assignment:

For a homework assignment, have students bring in:

• 3-5 addresses of family members

• Stamps and envelopes for each address

The students write the letters in school to family members and then address the envelopes to be mailed. The teacher mails the letters for the students.

There are 2 sample letters to send home requesting materials for the letter writing assignment. The 1st letter is for 3 addresses. The 2nd letter is for 5 addresses for older students.

Letter Writing Paper and a Writer's Checklist is also included.
