FREE Career Exploration "Would You Rather" Questions

Over the years, I have found that students who can imagine themselves in successful careers have much more motivation to excel in school. I’m thrilled to offer this free and simple set of “Would You Rather” questions focused on career exploration.

These are great conversation starters. I like to use them for quick pair-share activities. Once kids are comfortable with the format, I recommend giving each student their own copy. Invite them to put a check by the choice they would prefer and to put a star by the choices they find most interesting.

Once kids have annotated these, I love to send them home (where they can be great conversation starters once again).

These questions are ideal for use as writing prompts, for morning work or for meaningful homework.

This file contains 32 questions, inviting students to consider 64 different career paths.

These questions can be valuable for all students, but I find that it's especially important to engage in these conversations with students living in poverty (as these students are less likely to have daily contact with role models in a variety of rewarding careers).

Let's make sure all our kids are invited to picture themselves in meaningful, self-selected careers on a regular basis!
