ANSWER BOOK (105 pages)

I developed this catch-up program for my 7 to 12 year olds who were one to two years below their peers in Fractions and Decimals (Australian Curriculum). The ACARA references are included for those teachers who need them.

It is designed as an Intervention Program and the format is such that you can hand it to a teaching assistant and they will be able to follow it with an individual or small group. It is perfect for homeschooling used this way as well. I use it in intervention and I have refined it over the last few years to a point where I think it will be useful to others.

The TASK CARDS are interspersed throughout the program as they reinforce the skills being learned at that point. You could, however, copy them as a separate element and put them in a Maths Centre.

I have bundled my games to help consolidate skill progression. Fractions and Decimals can be difficult concepts for some students and adding games means constant practice that will lead to mastery. There is a DONKEY Card Game included and it can be used for a range of matching games, such as Memory, but also for explicit teaching.

This program also complements my FRACTION FUN books. These books go into more detail and would suit the student who needs more time and practice. My CONTENTS page included in the PREVIEW gives you some idea of how this all fits together. It should save you heaps of time.

First, administer the screener which is included in this product. Then go to the relevant skill sets not yet mastered. If the student/s need more practice for mastery, go to the FRACTION FUN BOOKS. You have all the resources you need to guarantee mastery of fraction concepts this way.
