    Description

These FULLY EDITABLE simple and routine lesson plan templates are perfect for intervention (or program which needs to run smoothly) with a routine in place. Simply decide what text to use on a consist basis, then align with Florida's F.A.S.T. tested standards listed on this document. A hyperlink is included so the full description of the benchmark and clarification can be read depending on the grade level using it. Additional research can be conducted into the Achievement Level Descriptors if needed to deepen the understanding for instruction. Simply circle the benchmark standards to stack together.

This BUNDLE contains BOTH the ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY lessons plan tool in an EDITABLE format and in a PDF format.

Then, this planner will scaffold instruction with the interventionist using the gradual release model of: I DO, WE, DO, THEY DO, YOU DO... as they chunk the text and release instruction over to the students. Key questions and answers for each chunk reach can be decided on and recorded in the margin. At the end are summary frames to assist with summarizing the text, along with a culminating question to answer. The summary sentences can be displayed on a powerpoint or chart to assist the students will the appropriate summary language based on the overall text structure.

Although many may want the students to practice the various types of questions types on the actual FAST test, the first step is to get them to understand what is being read. If it can be written, then the text is understood. After that, and as the test gets closer, start working on actual test prep with item types. Plus, surely there are other materials used which will practice test-like situations.

PS - Some use this for a Differentiated Instruction planning tool, too, for those students with a comprehension focus.
