Executive Functioning Skills Workbook from A-Z: 40 Mini-Lessons & Activities

Use this executive functioning digital workbook to teach about EF skills from A to Z! Every letter includes 1-3 mini-lessons on executive functioning skills such as activating your brain, developing a plan, pacing yourself, goal setting, resilience, and more. Each of the 40 mini-lessons includes three slides/pages: an explanation of the topic, meaningful practice using writing and digital moveable pieces, and a summary page to review. This means no-prep. All the work is done for you and your learners. Just assign and practice the skills!

Workbooks are included as a Google Drive file and printable PDFs to provide options during distance learning and in the classroom.

Digital AND Print Versions Included

Digital: The digital version includes moveable pieces to make learning social emotional learning skills fun and interactive. Note that the digital version might be best-suited for computers and laptops, as students need to move individual pieces. Directions are included for how to assign with and without Google Classroom.

Print: The print versions include both black/white options. Print the activities and complete them as a book.

Self-Guided

This workbook can be an independent and self-guided activity for learners. Just have them complete one skill per day, or allow them to work at their own individual pace!

Why Teach Executive Functioning Skills?

Executive functioning skills are the basis for planning, organizing, initiating, and following through will all tasks, assignments, and problems inside and outside of school. Many students who forget assignments, are disorganized, can’t complete long-term assignments, have trouble focusing, and experience difficulty with change often have weak executive functioning skills. These are the students who need to be taught explicit skills in order to become successful in school and in life after school. Simply put, executive functioning skills are necessary life skills.
