    Description

Do your students have an executive functioning skills deficit in self-control, self-regulation, attention and working memory? Help improve executive functioning for your high school or middle school students with this digital no prep lesson bundle, that includes three interactive lessons and activities with 8 teaching videos.

Provide your students explicit instruction on these skills with strategies, tools, and apps students can use as well as practice scenarios and the ability to apply the skill to their own life. All lessons liken the brain skill to a concrete example for easy understanding for students. Example: working memory is your brain's version of a sticky note.

Whether you teach general education, special education, are a speech language pathologist or other support professional this resource is what your students need! Works for in person or online learning! Can be done digitally or on paper.

The following is a bundle of THREE lessons in my executive functioning skills series. (This is bundle two, bundle one can be found here)

What are executive functioning skills? Executive functioning skills are the skills you need to be a successful person. These skills involve: planning, prioritizing, time management, working memory, self-control, metacognition, attention, task initiation, and perseverance.

Students who struggle in school often have weak executive functioning skills. In order to be successful in school and in life, students who struggle need to be taught these skills explicitly. I have created an entire course and curriculum at my school based on this premise, and have students to this day come back and tell me that the “real world skills” they learned in my class, help them as adults. (Over 90% graduation rate for students who take my class)

    HOW TO USE:
    - Teach one skill a week

    - Please see the individual lesson slides for directions and teaching videos on how to use with students.

    NOTES FOR USE:
    - I would ONLY teach one skill per week, not all the skills in one week!
(This is why it says the duration is three weeks)
    - Each of these lessons took my students longer than 45 minutes, due to their ability level. (I used almost two full class periods)

    - I have used this lesson for 9, 10, and 11th grade as well as my post grad students
