What educators are saying

Great resource for helping students with ADHD and mild learning disabilities in my 10th grade learning strategies class to understand planning, organization, and time management. This brought about some good class discussion, as these are skills that my students struggle with.
I teach a high school life skills class and this is exactly what I was looking for to teach students how to manage their time.

    Description

Support your students planning, prioritizing, time management, task initiation, and organization executive functioning skills with this digital or printable no prep bundle. Includes three interactive lessons and activities with 6 teaching videos. These digital mini-lessons and activities are perfect for high school or middle school students that need explicit instruction on these real world skills. The lessons include strategies, tools, and apps students can use, as practice scenarios and the ability to apply the skill to their own life. Whether you teach general education, special education, are a speech language pathologist or other support professional this resource is what your students need! Works for in person or online learning! Can be done digitally or on paper.

The following is bundle of THREE lessons in my executive functioning skills series.

    What are executive functioning skills?
Executive functioning skills are the skills you need to be a successful person. These skills involve: planning, prioritizing, time management, working memory, self-control, metacognition, attention, task initiation, and perseverance.

Students who struggle in school often have weak executive functioning skills. In order to be successful in school and in life, students who struggle need to be taught these skills explicitly. I have created an entire course and curriculum at my school based on this premise, and have students to this day come back and tell me that the “real world skills” they learned in my class, help them as adults. (Over 90% graduation rate for students who take my class)

    HOW TO USE:
Please see the individual lesson slides for directions and teaching videos on how to use with students.

    NOTES FOR USE:
    - I would ONLY teach one skill per week, not all the skills in one week!
(This is why it says the duration is three weeks)
    - Each of these lessons took my students longer than 45 minutes, due to their ability level. (I used almost two full class periods)

    - I have used this lesson for 9, 10, and 11th grade as well as my post grad students
