Description

This European Explorers - Age of Exploration timeline activity is an awesome way for students to visually see the events of the European Explorers in order! Explorers included: Christopher Columbus, Vasco Nunez de Balboa, Juan Ponce de Leon, Jacques Cartier, John Cabot, Hernando de Soto, and Henry Hudson. Students will cut and paste pages together and fill out the timeline using their own resources. There is a Word Bank included and an answer key! This activity can be used as an independent activity after learning about the explorers, as an ongoing activity throughout a unit, or as a quiz!

Includes:
- 1 page timeline to be cut and paste together
- 1 page of events to be glued in timeline
- 1 page of events (without the dates) to be glued in timeline
- answer key

This timeline activity covers Georgia Standards of Excellence:

SS3H2 Describe European exploration in North America.
a. Describe the reasons for and obstacles to the exploration of North America.
b. Describe the accomplishments of: John Cabot (England), Vasco Núñez de Balboa (Spain), Hernando de Soto (Spain), Christopher Columbus (Spain), Henry Hudson (The Netherlands), and Jacques Cartier (France).
c. Describe examples of cooperation and conflict between European explorers and American Indians.
