Description

Students will be learning a unit about: Ethical Decision-Making: What factors should be considered when making ethical decisions? How do personal values and cultural norms influence ethical choices?

Activity: Opinion Questions Discussion (35 minutes):

  1. Question Introduction (5 minutes):
  • Distribute the printed opinion questions to each student.
  • Explain that they will be discussing these questions in pairs and as a class.

  1. Pair Discussions (15 minutes):
  • In pairs, students take turns answering the questions, providing explanations for their yes or no responses.
  • Encourage students to listen actively to their partner's responses.

  1. Classroom Discussion (15 minutes):
  • Open the floor for students to share their responses with the whole class.
  • Encourage students to provide reasoning behind their answers.
  • Facilitate a respectful and inclusive discussion, allowing multiple perspectives to be heard.

Application and Reflection (10 minutes):

  1. Reflective Writing (5 minutes):
  • Ask students to individually reflect on one question that sparked their interest or made them think differently. Have them write a short paragraph explaining their thoughts.

  1. Sharing and Wrap-Up (5 minutes):
  • Invite a few students to share their reflections with the class.
  • Summarize the key points from the discussion on the whiteboard or flip chart.

Homework/Extended Activity: Assign a short essay or creative project where students can explore a personal ethical dilemma they have faced, considering the factors discussed in class.
