Description
Equivalent Fractions:
1.) Visual practice sheet - equal areas...
Students must realize that these two fractions are the SAME SIZE CIRCLES and GRIDS. That they are equivalent in shaded areas on each fraction.
I recommend to circle back and review every week for a month...quick review...reminder on equal areas...so there is sufficient repetition for students to ingrain a visual understanding of equivalent fractions.
2.) Levels 2 and 3 of this series. Mathematical meaning...actually multiplying by ONE WHOLE...2/2, 3/3, 4/4, etc. via an improper fraction equal to 1. The identity principle of multiplication/division is at play in this situation.
Best to you and your students.
