Description
In order to fulfill Common Core Standard 6.R.P.A 3. A. The students will need to be able to make tables of equivalent ratios. In order to do this they will need to know what is an equivalent ratio/fraction which (according to common core, they learn in the 3rd and 4th grade). This Power Point on Equivalent Fractions will make the transition into the tables that much easier, or at the very least refresh the memories.
Like all my Power Point lessons I always like to be able to project my slides onto the white board so I can interact with them and allow the students to come to the board and interact with them. They are also easy to print for any special needs.
The Lesson includes a fun slide to have the students come into, a warm up, notes, and practice.

CCSS3.NF.A.3b
Recognize and generate simple equivalent fractions, (e.g., 1/2 = 2/4, 4/6 = 2/3). Explain why the fractions are equivalent, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
CCSS6.RP.A.3a
Make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-number measurements, find missing values in the tables, and plot the pairs of values on the coordinate plane. Use tables to compare ratios.
