Description
This resource can be used as an all-encompassing unit for when your elementary students are learning about how their food choices affect the environment! Within all activities, there is a huge emphasis on food sustainability. Students will be wrapping up their learning by taking a look into the food practices within their own household.
There are three different parts to this resource.
- The Presentation: This includes information on carbon footprints, sustainable diets, eating locally, buying seasonal foods and avoiding food waste.
- The Worksheet: This includes 6 questions with an answer key. The questions correspond with the presentation.
- ‘Food Audit’ Project and Rubric: This is an independent project and must be completed after the above two components. Students will be collecting research on food practices within their households and presenting their findings.
