Description

Are you using Engage New York / Eureka Math? Then this resource of parent letters and print-and-play games or activities in ENGLISH and SPANISH will help you support your families while teaching First Grade Module 5.

What's Included?

* A letter to parents for each topic A through D within module 5 in English and Spanish,

* 2 corresponding engaging games or activites to send home with the letter (send both or choose one and use the other in class) for students to practice skills taught in class within each topic in English and Spanish - games require no fancy set up... students will need to be taught how to use a pencil and paper clip on the spinners. A paper clip is the only requirement for game play on some pages. Simply print and play! Scissors and/or glue are the only requirement for some of the activities.

UPDATED April 29, 2019: Revisions made to Module 5 Spanish version. Thank you to buyer Elena!

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Tell and write time in hours and half-hours using analog and digital clocks.
Distinguish between defining attributes (e.g., triangles are closed and three-sided) versus non-defining attributes (e.g., color, orientation, overall size); build and draw shapes to possess defining attributes.
Compose two-dimensional shapes (rectangles, squares, trapezoids, triangles, half-circles, and quarter-circles) or three-dimensional shapes (cubes, right rectangular prisms, right circular cones, and right circular cylinders) to create a composite shape, and compose new shapes from the composite shape.
Partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, fourths, and quarters, and use the phrases half of, fourth of, and quarter of. Describe the whole as two of, or four of the shares. Understand for these examples that decomposing into more equal shares creates smaller shares.
