Description

Children enjoy learning about animals. They love reading about, watching them, and acquiring knowledge about their habits: what they eat, where they live, their size, their babies and their survival strategies. Add an animal’s conservation status, and children become intrigued with humanity’s role in both endangering and improving that status.

Connecting the topic of Endangered Animals with your Language Arts program, you will be able to instruct, provide learning experiences, and assess the skills of: Listening and Speaking, Reading and Writing, and Viewing/Representing. Three projects are illustrated in depth: a Traditional Report, a Powerpoint Presentation, and scripting for a One-Act Play. Available also is a slide show to demonstrate the features described in the unit.
