Description

To complete the mystery of The Lost Lemonade your students will work in small groups, use their detective notes, and solve language tasks to discover who has taken the lemons. After solving the tasks, you might want to have a special lemonade treat!

It’s the first day of summer! Lemon Larry and Sugar Shelly are having a lemonade stand for the neighborhood. As they are setting up, they realize that all their fresh lemons have disappeared! Help them figure out who took the lemons so they can make a lemonade treat for their neighbors.

Clue #1 (vowel teams) – All the words have a vowel team. Read each word and sort the words to the correct suspect. Whoever has the most words is NOT the culprit.

Clue #2 (abc order secret puzzzle) – The puzzle shows a suspect that did NOT take the lemons! Work with your team to put the pieces together correctly. Hint: The words will help you solve the puzzle!

Clue #3 (sequence of events) – Read the text to learn how to make lemonade. Whoever has the steps in the correct order did NOT take the lemons from the lemonade stand.

Clue #4 (digraphs) – Each of the words has a digraph. Sort the words to the correct suspect. Whoever has the most words is NOT the lemonade stand thief.

Clue #5 (scrambled words) – The words are all scrambled up! Use the clues to help you unscramble the letters. Whoever has the correct words is NOT the culprit!

The mystery ends with a lemonade treat!
