It’s the last day of school and you just have one thing left to do – return your library books. You head to the library, but while you are there, you get sidetracked reading your favorite superhero comic book. “I’ll just read a bit longer,” you say to yourself. Finally you decide to head back to your classroom. But when you open the door, you can’t see a thing. Everything is pitch black. “Oh no,” you cry, “everyone has left and I am here all alone!” How will you get out of here if you can’t even see what’s in front of you?
Will you be trapped inside the school all summer long?

Ready to take your end of the year activities to a whole new level? Your students are going to LOVE this “Trapped” escape room-style activity where they will crack codes and work together as a team, ultimately overcoming the obstacles and getting out of the school!
Your students will be completing six different challenges (or obstacles) in order to make it out. These challenges will be completed as a small group of about four people in order to encourage teamwork and cooperation.
When a team has solved a challenge, one member will come to you with the answer and to get the next envelope.
The goal is for each group to complete the escape room, but it is motivating to have teams compete against each other to see who can solve it first.
**NOTE: I know that the end of the year is a chaotic time! This escape room is not as skill-intense as some of my other ones. It is intended to be low-prep, and fun for a variety of ages. Your students will love ending the year with this teamwork activity!**
