It includes an original informational book/PowerPoint presentation, math activities, language arts printables, reading comprehension activities {Strega Nona Takes a Vacation}, cute how to blow a bubble hat and writing, three literacy stations, and SO MUCH MORE!

Pop! A Book About Bubblesu – An original informational book/PowerPoint presentation

Math Activities
-Gum Tasting Activity
For this activity you will need to provide four different gum flavors for each student to sample. After sampling the gum flavors, students will use the included printables to graph their results and answer questions about the graph.
-Bubble Gum Word Problems
Students must solve bubble gum word problems by drawing pictures and explaining their thinking.
-Gumball Shares
Students must read a bubblegum word problem and make equal shares. You could incorporate fractions or division into this lesson.
-Gumball Fraction Open Response/On Demand
Students must understand the meaning of ½ and ¼ to create a set of gumballs. They must explain their thinking in writing.

Writing
-Opinion Writing – Do you think we should have a bubble day of fun?
This writing piece should be done before the bubble day of fun.
-How to Blow a Bubble Writing & Hat - I have included BME sheets, so that you can have another option.
-Four Square organizer & Writing Paper
Your students can write about their bubble day of fun!
-If I were a bubble….
Students must pretend that they are bubbles and write about their day.
Reading
-Strega Nona Takes a Vacation by Tomie dePaola comprehension questions, story map, and making connections response sheet.
-Reading Response Sheets {visual images, making connections, character change}

Language Arts Printables
-Fact or Opinion?
Students cut and sort facts and opinions. The answers can be glued in a response journal or on the recording sheet.
-Expand the Sentence
-Subject or Predicate?
Students must read bubble related sentences and find the subject and predicate.
-Common or Proper?
Students must cut and sort common and proper nouns

Literacy Stations
1. Parts of Speech Sort – Students must sort nouns, verbs, adjectives, and pronouns. Their answers are recorded on the recording sheet.
2. Syllable Sort – Students must sort words by syllables and record their answers on their recording sheet.
3. What’s the Vowel Sound? – Students must explore and review various ways to spell the long vowel sounds. Once all of the words are sorted, their answers should be recorded on their recording sheet.
