What educators are saying

I like having my students do this project every year near the end of the school term and then all the students present their projects to the class!
We had great success using this resource in our classroom. Perfect for small group & whole group - depending on how you want to integrate it into your classroom.

Description

"This was easy to use and it covered all of the end of the year 'memories’ that I wanted to include for the students. The directions were very clear to use. I was happy that I could also add a page and insert a class end-of-the-year-video." - Jennifer B.

Our end of the year memory book is the perfect way to celebrate everything your students learned this year and keep your students occupied until that final school bell rings. This fun project keeps kids engaged (no more bouncing off the walls or watching the minutes on the clock crawl by) as they relive their favorite memories and creates a beautiful keepsake to treasure.

Students will write about their teacher(s), favorite memories, summer goals, eLearning (if applicable), details about themselves and so much more! They can even add pictures to their books.  And a blank page is included so you can customize additional pages to meet your specific needs.

This digital and printable end-of-year memory book is the perfect activity to help kids reflect on their school year. And this low-prep resource saves you tons of time (to pack up materials or finish report cards). Clear directions make it a breeze to use and customize this book.

What’s inside:

  • Detailed teacher directions
  • 6 cover options (Generic, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade)
  • 12 different Google slides that are ready for students to customize
  • 1 editable slide with directions to add additional pages with your own headings
  • a PowerPoint file with all of the slides
  • A downloadable PDF with a printable version of the book

After purchasing this resource, you will receive a PDF with very specific directions and the links you will need to download your Google slides or PowerPoint presentation.

How it Works:

Digital:

The digital version includes 12 different Google Slides for use with Google Classroom. This is a great option if your copy budget is depleted or if you are in a 1:1 classroom. Kids love working on devices and a digital memory book makes a keepsake that lasts forever. You can even email a copy to parents.

There’s also a PowerPoint version for use with other LMS. Students can write about their favorite memories directly on the Slides and add pictures to make a special customized book they can save for years to come! An extra slide allows them to add additional details they want to remember.

When you use the digital version, this is a no-prep activity.  And there’s no cutting, gluing, or photocopying necessary!

Printable:
If you would rather have your students make a physical memory book, simply download the printable pdf and make a copy for each student in your class. You might want to make some extra copies of the blank page so that students can add their own special details.

Students can write directly on the pages and draw pictures or add printed photographs.

How Can I Use This Resource in My Classroom?

This end of the year memory book is a great activity to keep kids busy during the last days of school. There are several ways to use it:

  • Assign the digital version in classrooms that have 1:1 devices - post in Google Classroom or another LMS
  • Email students the memory book as an attachment
  • Work on the project (digital or printable) as a class during a whole group lesson
  • Use the digital version in the classroom during centers and allow the students working on technology to work on the memory book
  • Use the printable version as a whole group activity
  • Place the printable activity in centers
  • Use during morning work or for fast finishers

Time to Complete:

How long this activity takes will depend upon how many pages your class completes and the level of detail your students incorporate. It will also depend on the age of your students. We recommend devoting at least thirty minutes a day to this activity over the course of a week. Of course, you can always customize the project to meet your needs.
