Description

This end of year activity celebrates summer while still keeping students engaged and thinking. These end of year task cards ask students to analyze figurative language including metaphor, simile, personification, hyperbole, and analogies. While this ELA activity is summer themed, the questions are still rigorous and could be used as ELA test prep.

Includes:

  • Summer Figurative Language Task Cards
  • Self-grading Google Form for Digital Task Cards
  • Answer Document for Students
  • Answer Key

Figurative Language Task Cards

  • metaphor
  • simile
  • hyperbole
  • personification
  • analogies

These could be used for end of year exit tickets in ELA, end of year warm ups, test prep exit tickets, end of year stations, as a gallery walk around the room, etc. ELA Task Cards allow for a lot of flexibility in how students practice.

I used these task cards at the end of the year when we had turned our devices in to keep students thinking and engaged up to the last day of the year!
