Description

"Digging a simple well near the ancient capital city of Chang’an, a handful of Chinese farmers made one of the biggest archeological discoveries of all time."

Encourage interest in ancient China with this fascinating article and activity on the terracotta soldiers! Included in your 3-page printable is everything you need to introduce Emperor Qin and the Terracotta Soldiers to your students.

The lesson starts with a brief introduction to the discovery of the ancient mausoleum and also includes a few key images for students to view, including multiple images of the terracotta soldiers.

After the introduction, students can independently (or in small groups) answer the comprehension questions. The students will then participate in a discussion about what a legacy is- and what kind of legacy they would like to leave.

I hope you enjoy this printable. It can be used across a variety of grade levels, and can be used as a group or independent activity.
