Emotional Regulation Activities and Session Outlines Planning Tool by OTs

Based off the concepts of social thinking, I have compiled a list of activities and session plans which I frequently use. These were formulated and refined over the years of my practice, which have been greatly beneficial for children with sensory processing disorders and emotional regulation difficulties.

This bundle of session plans makes up a module I have completed with numerous batches of children who have been referred for emotional regulation challenges. There are 18 session plans inside which progress from identifying emotions to developing coping tools.

These activities promote self-awareness, a deeper understanding of zones of regulation, and the facilitation of expected vs unexpected behaviours. There is little to no logistics required for each activity. The resources required can be googled and found through the zones of regulation website. I am unable to include these due to copyright as well as limitation on the file size.

Please note that this is a raw copy of this document, and not worksheets for children. This is meant for the upskilling of teachers and their planning of lessons. However, this resource is extremely useful as it provides a structured lesson plan for a few weeks.
