What educators are saying

This worked well in my many-graded classroom. Students of all ages enjoyed making their agamographs, and they look cool displayed on the bulletin board!
A low-stress, no-prep resource for students! What an incredible way to introduce history, art, and tie writing! Love this and highly recommend it.

    2. Emoji Agamographs + Writing

    VIDEO PREVIEW

This set of my unique agamographs includes emojis that students will absolutely love. I have created 4 emoji agamograph designs using 8 expressions. Also included are writing materials to support your work with narrative writing, descriptive writing, expository writing, and persuasive writing.

Agamographs are super fun and contemporary activities to easily integrate art into your classroom. There is a huge "wow factor" in this art activity--the students love the surprise. And best of all, they did it themselves!!

What's an Agamograph? It is a picture that morphs into another image when you look at it from a different angle.

It's hard to say but easy to do!

I strongly recommend this for grades 3 and above.

Absolutely everything you need (besides some basic supplies) is included - handouts, written instruction for the teacher and student, quick checklists, and a video breaking down the whole process. Let me do the teaching with this video!

Use this activity for your anticipatory set for an upcoming writing unit. Or use this activity for a final project when you are finished with a writing unit or any discussion on emotions. Last but not least, use this project all on its own for a wonderful - memorable integration of art and a discussion of the history of our written language.

The images have already been “spliced” together, and each space has been assigned a color. Students color them and then fold them. Once completed, students can walk from one side of the image to the other and watch it change!

This is a project often used by art teachers; however, I’ve taken out most of the “prep and mess” so that classroom teachers can find this useful and fun as well as art teachers. This project makes a big impression on children and the school community. It gives kids such a great opportunity to try and explain how they created them and all the steps and sequence involved.

    Basic supplies needed:

    • Colored pencils, crayons, or markers in these colors: red, blue, yellow, green, purple, and black.

    • 9” x 12” construction paper (This could vary depending on if you are adding any of the extra activities to the bottom of your agamograph or not).

    • Copy paper

    • Ruler (as thin as possible)

    • Glue (glue sticks are best)

    • Scissors

    Included:

    • Video

    • Writing activities

    • Agamograph handouts

    • Emoji handout (also serves as a writing example, so you don’t have to make one).

    • Handouts for 4 designs
