Description

Celebrate poetry and the power of a woman poet! This guide offers critical thinking discussion questions, writing activities, classroom activities, and history activities. I wrote Emma's Poem, The Voice of the Statue of Liberty because I've always admired the poet who penned the world-famous lines, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..." I hope you'll read my book to your class and choose some activities from my guide to inspire your students with more understanding and empathy for immigrants and an appreciation for the woman who gave the Statue of Liberty a powerful voice.
