What educators are saying

Thank you! This is an outstanding resource to add to my Personal Finance curriculum. It is also very well organized and easy to implement.
I did this with a group of 7th graders, and have them schedule it for the middle of their senior year. I so hope they come back to tell me how they felt opening those and reading them! Great resource!

Description

Are you looking for a fun way to wrap up your financial literacy course or a personal finance unit? In this activity, students can recap what they have learned as well as engage in the fun task of writing to their future selves!

In this resource, students are tasked with writing 3 emails to their future selves:

  • 1 year after graduation
  • 5 years after graduation
  • 10 years after graduation

The resource comes with writing prompts as well as encouragement to include extra information, questions, stories, and ideas. They will be asked to consider the life stage of their future selves, what life events may be occurring, and what information from their financial education course might now be relevant in their lives.

The writing prompts are available in PDF and Google Document format and the email service recommended in this resource is FutureMe and WhenSend.
