Description

I have received countless emails from my secondary students, and there is one pattern across them all: they lack something. Whether they forget a subject, do not address me (the reader), or simply forgot to put their own name, they do not adhere to the basic structure of an email. With this activity pack, your students will be able to produce a nicely structured email to a teacher.

In this Emailing Activities Pack, you will receive the following:

  • A lesson guide
  • (NEW IN 2020) A 21-slide PowerPoint presentation that is Google Slides compatible
  • A how-to-write-an-email handout for your students
  • A practice template for students to write an email
  • Four email examples for which students will need to revise and rewrite with necessary corrections
  • (NEW IN 2020) 10 templates for your students to use to write a variety of emails to various recipients to focus on tone, diction, audience, and purpose
  • (NEW IN 2020) An emailing cheat sheet explaining words email terms such as BCC, forward, compose, etc.
  • (NEW IN 2020) An emailing checklist for students to use as they write emails
  • (NEW IN 2020) Digital version of the handouts

Not only is this real-world applicable for students, it's a great beginning of the year or even end-of-the-year activity. It's also great to strengthen their organization skills, writing skills, and proofreading skills.
