Description
Have you encountered a poorly written email from a student? I know I have! It never ceases to amaze me that many students do not know how to craft a basic email. Writing emails is a critical life skill and this activity pack was designed to help students explore and master email communication.
In this activity, students will write an email based on a provided scenario (10 scenarios included) using the Email Checklist provided. Students will trade emails with a partner and analyze their partner's email. Students will then answer 6 reflection questions. You can choose to have students revise their emails based on their partner's review or have them keep the information confidential. Hold a discussion over the reflection questions and use the basic grading rubric to assess student work.
This product includes:
- Email Checklist
- 10 Scenarios to use for writing emails
- Analyze an Email Worksheet
- Grading Rubric (based on 30 points)
Please note this product is in a PDF. Students do not have to have actual email access to complete the activity. The Grading Rubric is to assess the emails written based on the scenarios. No key is included for the reflection questions on the worksheet because answers may vary.
This product has the capability to have an interactive layer for the PDF. The Analyze an Email Worksheet can be assigned digitally through Easel. Students will need to login with a Google email account in order to access their activity. As a reminder, all digital student work is completed and reviewed on TpT.
