Editable Poetry project for Spanish 1

Many authentic poems can be found online titled "Yo Soy Yo."
In this writing assignment, students are prompted to write their own Spanish poem about themselves after reading one or a few of these. This packet provides a teacher example that can be used as well.
In their writing, students are called to use BASIC ADJECTIVES, the verb SER, and (optional) common INFINITIVES.
What is included?
*Everything is editable! All graphics are fixed, however all text is editable.

A rubric is provided as well to count this as a writing and visual project. After writing the poem (scaffolding options and a sample student adjective word bank is provided,) students create visual representations of their poetry. The results are quite beautiful and each one is unique!
Templates included
There are TWO TEMPLATES included as well! One would be for a class close to the beginning of the year, and only requires the use of Spanish adjectives. The second template can be used after a quick introduction to gustar and common Spanish nouns / infinitives.
Each template has space for a first draft as well as a final copy.
The fill-in templates are great for differentiation. For more advanced students, have them start from scratch!

This is the first writing assignment I do each year with my students. Even in early September, they are able to piece together a beautiful poem and we decorate the room with their artwork! They are always so impressed with how much they can write, and how soon! Set the tone for the year with this fun authentic activity.
