Editable Heart Word Tricky Word Sight Word Building

Whether you are teaching sight words, heart words, or tricky words, you are going to love this Read, Build, Write, Sight Word Center. It is low prep and it can be used with any word list. I have created three different versions, plus an editable version so you can add any words that you want. There are also two different mats to choose from.

List 1

This was designed for Kindergarteners. Digraphs and FLOSS rule words have both hearts and non hearts, so you can change it as you teach the rule. Long vowels, vowel teams, and r-controlled vowels are heart words because they are not likely taught in Kindergarten (but go to list 2 if you do teach them)

List 2

This was designed for 1st and 2nd grade and assumes you have taught long vowels, vowel teams, and r-controlled vowels. 1st grade teachers may need to mix and match list 1 and 2

List 3 Blank

This was designed with out dots and hearts. I know there are times you just need black sight word cards

Editable Version

This is a PowerPoint where you can add your own words, your own sound dots, and your own hearts, where you need them.

I created this based on the multiple SOR trainings that I have attended. I recognize you may place hearts in different spots based on your trainings and programs. That is why I added the editable version. However, you can email me and I will consider adding words. myfabulousclass@gmail.com
