Description

My friend and fellow teacher and I wrote this test after attending a question vetting session. What an eye opener that was for us.We wrote the test with two different passages serving two purposes. They can be used together or separately. We used The Raven excerpt as a cold read to assess if the students could apply all they had studied and learned during our in-depth study of The Tell-Tale Heart. We included a portion on The Tell-Tale Heart because we had spent so much time working on this great story that we wanted to assess it. We have 10 vocabulary true/false questions on this test. They are not term and definition, but a use of the term in more relevant situations.

We teach in a one-to-one Google Chromebook school. We put this test in Google Forms and gave the students a copy of The Raven excerpt to read and reference during the test. This is an amazing tool if you haven’t used it!! Who isn’t looking for a time saver in our busy job?
