What educators are saying

This was very helpful as I prep for my EDTPA. I benefit from seeing a final product to work on my information. Thank you.

Description

This is my personal portfolio for the EdTPA Elementary Education Assessment with tasks 1 through 4. I completed the edTPA in March of 2022 with a passing score of 54/90 (EDTPA scoring rubric is provided in the preview slot). This is a digital document where I put all the tasks in one file accumulating to over 120 pages. The plans are geared towards a 2nd grade Dual-Language Classroom - The Assessment Commentary is in English with the exception of materials I provided in both languages (all work is in English). The EDTPA assessment includes the following:

  • Task 1: Planning Commentary - Context for Learning Information, Lesson plans, Materials, Assessments, and Commentary.
    • Context for Learning and Accommodations/Modifications Chart
    • Lesson 1 - Changes of Planet Earth (ELA with integrated Science component)
    • Lesson 2 - Fast Changes of Planet Earth (volcanoes, and earthquakes)
    • Lesson 3 - Fast Changes of Planet Earth (Landslides, and Tsunamis
    • Lesson 4 - Slow Changes of Planet Earth (Erosion and Weathering)
    • Materials used (slides, anchor charts, graphic organizers, videos, books, & checklists for each lesson)
    • Assessments used (exit-tickets, graphic organizers, rubrics, and check lists)
    • Planning Commentary for Task 1

  • Task 2: Instructional Commentary (commentary)
    • Commentary for Task 2
    • No videos provided.

  • Task 3: Literacy Assessments (Assessments, samples, feedback, rubric, and commentary)
    • Assessments used for Task 3
    • Student work samples
    • Feedback on work samples
    • Rubric used to grade work samples and provide feedback
    • Assessment Commentary for Task 3

  • Task 4: Math Reengagement - (Context for learning, lesson overview, formative assessment, work samples (before and after), rubric, and commentary)
    • Math Context for learning
    • Lesson Overview (Subtraction with regrouping, drawing a model, plotting solution on a number line and using a mathematical statement to explain reasoning.)
    • Formative and Reengagement Assessment that was used
    • Evaluation Criteria that was used
    • Student Work Samples for Formative assessment and Reengagement lesson
    • Math Commentary for Task 4

EVERY TASK IS SOLD SEPARATELY IF YOU NEED A SPECIFIC TASK INSTEAD

My score report is in the preview slot where I scored a 54, and the passing score was a 44 in NJ. I hope this helps many of the new teachers coming into the field. When I took this assessment, I told myself that I would be helping other teachers in the future pass this assessment and I hope that I've accomplished that. If you have any questions please feel free to message me directly or post a question! Good luck future teachers!

This example should ONLY be used as an example for you as you take the assessment. Copying or replicating my assessment violates edTPA policies and in turn EDTPA will not grade your submission. Take this into consideration! Take this as an example which will help you form your own assessment submission.

PLEASE LEAVE A REVIEW, I would greatly appreciate the feedback!
