Description

This activity has two parts. Part one is background information. Where did modern concepts of advertising come from? What is the psychology used in trying to sell someone on an idea and/or product? These questions are addressed in this first part of the activity. The second part involves application. What does persuasion in advertising look like? How can you classify the different forms of persuasion? These questions are addressed in the second half of this activity.

This activity is highly suitable for HS or college economics, though it could be used with middle school economics as well.
