Description
This is a 120 slide PowerPoint presentation with built-in class notes (red slides), video links, one page homework, answer key, and lesson that that describes Anorexia, Bulimia nervosa, and anabolic steroid use and their dangers.
A description of Anorexia is provided. Text is limited to the top of the slide where all can see. The dangers of anorexia are then presented slide by slide with images. Bulimia nervosa is then described and its dangers presented. A link to a powerful video introduction to the portrayal of women in the media is provided. Please view before showing to your students. Two links are provided, one is the short version of a few minutes, and the other is a twenty minute version. Anabolic steroid use is described last and all of its dangers in a step by step approach. This is a very visual PowerPoint but includes important text. Together, the message is very clear that all three have dangers. Your students will be introduced to what all three are and their associated risks from viewing this PowerPoint. You also find ways to support individuals with eating disorders so the presentation is not all danger oriented and ends with positive messages. -Please note that this PowerPoint is offered withing my extremely large Junk Food, Dangers of Fast Food, and Obesity PowerPoint. These topics were buried in the middle of the PowerPoint and I thought it required its own post for keyword search reasons and I wanted to offer just the eating disorders portion for a reduced rate.

The Human Body Systems and Health Topics Unit includes a 13 Part interactive and engaging PowerPoint Presentation of 8,500+ slides with built-in class notes (Red Slides), lab activities with built-in instructions and questions, project ideas, discussion questions, built-in quizzes, step by step drawings, challenge questions with answers and much more. Text is always in large print (32 font) and is placed at the top of each slide so it can be read from all angles of a classroom. Also included is a 38 page assessment / bundled homework package that chronologically follows the PowerPoint slideshow, as well as a 36 page modified assessment. 60 pages of class notes with visuals are included for students who may require support, as well as answer keys to both of the assessments for support professionals, teachers, and homeschool parents. 108 video shorts (.flv files) are provided and a slide within the slideshow cues teacher / parent when the videos are most relevant to play. Video shorts usually range from 2-7 minutes and are included in organized folders. Five PowerPoint review games (125+ slides each) are included. Answers to the PowerPoint review games are provided in PowerPoint form so students can self-assess. Lastly, several class games such as guess the hidden picture beneath the boxes, crossword puzzles, and the find the hidden owl somewhere within the slideshow are provided.
