Easter Bunny Narrative Creative Story Writing Prompt Common Core 2nd 3rd 4th 5th
- PDF
Description
Are you looking for a fun creative writing prompt at Easter time? This is it, honey bunny!
Students will write creative narrative stories about what the Easter Bunny does when he realizes he doesn't have enough eggs for the children! They will use my graphic organizer to write a 6-paragraph story that includes writing about the setting, characters, problem, rising action, climax, and resolution. I've also included an exemplar to show students so they know what you expect. After students write their rough drafts on the graphic organizer, then you can give them a page of the adorable bunny-themed stationery to write their final copies on. Grade their stories using the included rubric, which aligns with Common Core and TN Ready standards for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.
This resource provides everything you need for Easter-themed creative writing in the classroom, library, homeschool, drama club, or beyond!
This BEST-SELLING product includes:
- Parts of a Narrative Poster: Spells out ICEE, a word students can memorize and use to help them remember the parts of a narrative.
- Writing Prompt & Tips: The prompt will help them focus their stories, and the tips align with the rubric you will use to grade them.
- Writing Guide (graphic organizer): This 2-page writing guide will help students write a 6-paragraph narrative; this includes the important elements of a narrative (setting, characters, plot, and resolution).
- Exemplar: I wrote an example that you can share with students so they know what you expect.
- Stationery: Lined writing paper with two bunnies on one sheet. Kids love to color the border and bunnies!
- Rubric: Contains 4 areas (aligned with CCSS) worth 25 points each for a total of 100 points.
- Standards: Common Core and TNReady Standards pages for grades 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Why buy writing resources from ink & us?
In the past, I have taught the 6-trait writing curriculum, Lucy Calkins Writing Workshop, and the SRSD model. I enjoyed using all of them, but my students still needed more explicit/direct writing instruction, specifically so they could write on-demand for standardized writing prompts. If this fits you - and this sounds like the support your students need - I hope you will try out my resources!
