What educators are saying

As always, Christa provided a quality product perfect for my students' interests and levels. We made folders for all their work, with the Vocabulary Board glued on the front cover. They were proud to take it home!
Great unit to use during our all about Earth unit. Students really enjoyed it and were thoroughly engaged

Description

Earth Day is April 22. This Earth Day unit, created for students with autism and other special learning needs, celebrates Earth Day and has a social story about being a good citizen.

This Earth Day unit was developed for students with autism and special learning needs. The materials are designed to allow students with multiple levels of learning to access and engage in science lessons on Earth Day.

There are many opportunities for students to engage in repeated information on Earth Day, conservation, and pollution. This repetition encourages a true understanding of why saving our Earth is important. Many of the Earth Day activities include more than one version, suggestions for differentiation, and options for presentation.

Finally, every effort is made for your students with autism to make their own personal connections to the concept of conservation and keeping our Earth healthy.

*****This Earth Day unit also contains digital versions of the activities. There are 20 google slides (includes differentiated set) with click and drag activities and movie versions of both books. Makes a great independent learning center for Earth Day.

Much of what I have learned about curriculum development is incorporated in these units. For example, do not be afraid of repetition. It is critical that students with significant disabilities get to experience material over several days to be able to fully assimilate what is being taught. Also, adding visual supports to your printables and class activities helps students be able to pay more attention to the content you are presenting rather than the mechanics of what is expected. Finally, ask questions. Good questions!! Regardless of the material, if we can ask students good questions it will push them to think more deeply than before.

As always please take a moment to leave feedback or post any questions you may have. Remember, you will gain credit toward future purchases on tpt as you leave more and more feedback!!

I am currently developing more units, and any feedback I get helps me make improvements in the future.

Please consider checking out my Conservation and Pollution Unit as a great companion to these materials:
