Description
Combine and art and poetry for a beautiful Earth Day activity that will WOW. For this project, students will use recycled materials like magazines, colored paper, etc. to fill in the image of the Earth. Students should tear little pieces of blue and green paper in various shades for the best effect. When gluing the paper onto the image, make sure to overlap the pieces so there is no white space showing.
Students will also write an “I am the Earth” poem, from the point of view of the Earth, to display alongside their art. There is a template provided for the poem.
There are a few different versions of the page included in this resource. There are two pages included with the template printed already (one with lines and
one without), and there is a page without the poem template (so poems can be printed and glued on, or students can write their own poems). There is also a page with just the poem template so students can work on a rough copy before completing their final copies.
