What educators are saying

They loved this. Especially since mixing playdoh was inevitable. They loved smooching each piece down.
Great easy to use resource that willl go along way for my class. This year I have a Kinder/ 1st grade class so Tara has given me the resources to easily differentiate.

Description

Looking for a fun and playful way to introduce environmental responsibility to children? Earth Day Playdough Mats and Sorting Activities offers many open-ended opportunities to combine play and learning. Children can decorate the Earth Day playdough mats with a variety of materials while learning about helping their Earth at the same time. Try the light table, stickers, bingo daubers, playdough, and loose parts/manipulatives. You can also add the sorting cards to a loose parts tray!

There are many ways we can help our Earth. This activity includes these playdough mats and sorting cards:

1. Earth- We had so much fun decorating the Earth in many ways and keeping it beautiful!
2. Reduce- Light bulb, light switch, faucet. These playdough mats prompted discussions about how we can use less electricity, turn off the lights when we don’t need them on, and use less water.
3. Reuse- Necklace, socks, vase. These playdough mats prompted discussions about how we could reuse these objects. We decided the beads on the necklace could be reused for crafting, the socks could be reused as cleaning rags, and the vase could be reused to hold craft supplies.
4. Recycle- Plastic bottle, newspaper, can. These playdough mats prompted discussions about how we could sort these objects and why it is important to recycle.
5. Grow- Sprout, tree, flowers. These playdough mats prompted discussions about why growing new plants help our environment.
